Beware! Anthony Troeger is a fraudster. This is a factual account of my experience as a client of Aardwolf International and Anthony Troeger regarding locator services he offered me and his unlawful conduct which resulted in a District Court Judge issuing a Restraining Order against Anthony Troeger for my safety.
Anthony Troeger is the owner of Aardwolf International, a Cary NC firm that provides investigative and protective services.
As a result of Anthony Troeger's menacing and unlawful conduct of following, stalking, and tracking me every day for months a District Court Judge issued a Restraining Order against Anthony Troeger for my protection and safety. Without legal purpose, Anthony Troeger, owner of Aardwolf International, has over 200 (yes, two hundred) stalking surveillance videos of me living my daily life. The Judge Ordered Anthony Troeger to:
1) Stop stalking me
2) Stop harassing me
3) Stay more than 500 feet away from me
4) Remove all GPS tracking devices placed on my property including my vehicles, electronic devices, and the home and property of my friends and family
5) Not visit, assault, molest, or otherwise interfere with me
6) Stop stealing my property
Anthony Troeger of Aardwolf International offered, billed, and was paid $400 in June 2017 for two "pinging" locator services he neither performed nor intended to perform as he was fully aware that pinging is a Federal crime. At the time I needed to locate an evasive individual for process service and Troeger offered to ping this individual's phone to determine the person's location. I was unaware what pinging was or that it was illegal. As a client I trusted and relied on Anthony Troeger's ethical and professional conduct as the owner of Aardwolf International. That was an enormously costly mistake on my part.
The pinged locations Anthony Troeger, Aardwolf International, identified using Maps were intentionally fabricated and years later proven false. At the time the alleged pings were provided I communicated to Anthony Troeger, CEO of Aardwolf International, the locations he identified seemed highly unusual and requested additional services per his email response noted above.
With this pinging fraud Anthony Troeger and Aardwolf International caused me massive additional legal expense and substantially prolonged litigation I was involved in at the time. Despite this knowledge, Anthony Troeger and his company, Aardwolf International, failed to provide reimbursement for these fraudulent pinging fees.
Aardwolf International and Anthony Troeger's pinging misrepresentations also necessitated consultation with a criminal defense attorney regarding my potential criminal liability. In addition, in 2021 a complaint regarding the pings was filed against Anthony Troeger and Aardwolf International with the Private Protective Services Board and they responded as follows:
Our office has received and reviewed the complaint you filed against Anthony Troeger. We are unable to initiate an investigation into this matter, as the statute of limitations has expired and we no longer have jurisdiction to investigate.
I trusted Anthony Troeger of Aardwolf International and he deceived me. The price of that trust was Anthony Troeger's betrayal during what he knew was a very difficult time which is the case when most people have a need to hire a private investigator. Anthony Troeger's conduct went far deeper than mere greed - his actions demonstrated a complete absence of decency and conscience with such ease and that begs a troubling question - how many other clients have he and his company, Aardwolf International defrauded.
After receiving the telling email located at the end of this content my respectful requests for a $400 refund were ignored by Aardwolf International and Anthony Troeger despite evidence that the pings were fabricated. As a result of Aardwolf International and Anthony Troeger's refusal to reimburse these fraudulent fees this site was created to expose his deceptive and unfair business practices.
Anthony Troeger responded as follows:
Based on his extensive law enforcement background as a former Federal agent Anthony Troeger weaponized the legal system against me and orchestrated my arrest and I was charged with Misdemeanor Stalking and Felony Extortion. I hired an attorney, at significant expense, to defend me against the charges. These false and malicious charges were dismissed with prejudice by a Judge.
During one District Court hearing Anthony Troeger arrogantly and defiantly testified under oath to having tracking devices placed on my vehicles to know my exact whereabouts - stalking me and those close to me for months. Signs placed throughout the county directing the public to this website have been stolen and Anthony Troeger admitted stealing approximately 80 of these signs. An individual monitoring a sign located in a median adjacent to a local Starbucks observed a middle-aged female with grayish hair steal this sign on Monday, February 27, 2023 at 9:22 AM. This female, purported to be Anthony Troeger's wife, placed the sign in the back of a blue Toyota SUV and drove away.
Despite the Court's dismissal of the charges against me Anthony Troeger, in his personal capacity and on behalf of his company, Aardwolf International, retained a former Federal prosecutor, now in private practice at an internationally prominent law firm, to threaten litigation against me for "unlawful conduct" that includes: Stalking, Extortion, Defamation, and Blackmail among other maliciously false claims. Anthony Troeger and his counsel even have the arrogance to accuse me of weaponizing the legal system...all in writing.
I started as a client of Anthony Troeger and Aardwolf International and simply requested a $400 refund for a service that was never provided and years later 1) was falsely arrested for Felony Extortion and Misdemeanor Stalking due to Anthony Troeger...a very public and humiliating experience. Troeger even accompanied the police and parked across the street from my home with a front row seat when two officers came to arrest me 2) a District Court Judge dismissed the false charges of Felony Extortion and Misdemeanor Stalking against me 3) a District Court Judge found cause to issue a Restraining Order against Anthony Troeger as a drastic protective measure for me 4) threatened with a baseless lawsuit by Anthony Troeger and his company, Aardwolf International, by his high-powered attorney.
A formal complaint that is well within the three year statute of limitations was filed in July 2025 with the Private Protective Services Board regarding Anthony Troeger's unlawful conduct against me that was the basis for an Honorable District Court Judge to issue a Restraining Order against him for my protection. I believe any disciplinary decision by the NCPPS Board that falls short of license revocation for Anthony Troeger and his company, Aardwolf International, would be an injustice.
